Speaking to inform or informative speech as sometimes it is called are a speech designed to convey knowledge and understanding...
3 criteria for effective informative speech is
information should be communicated:
- accurately
- clearly
- meaningfully and interesting
There are 4 types of informative speeches. Speeches about:
- objects
- processes
- events
- concepts
5 guidelines for effective informative speaking:
- Don't oversetimate what the audience knows about the topic
- Relate the subject directly to the audience
- Avoid being to technical
- avoid being too abstract
- Personalize your ideas
